NAMIB DESERT SCENIC (1 hour 6 minutes)
We will depart in a southerly direction past the Swakopmund – Walvis Bay dune belt and fly over the sand sea towards the Shawnee Shipwreck on the Diamond Coast. Our flight will zig-zag along the coastline past the “Langewand” back to Swakopmund. Seal colonies and an abundance of birdlife will be encountered from a safe altitude. Lastly, you will overfly Sandwich Harbor and the Ramsar wetlands and the salt pans south of Walvis Bay before heading to Swakopmund Airfield.
DIAMOND COAST SCENIC (1 hour 36 minutes)
We head toward the scenic Kuiseb River flanked by the red dunes to the south and white gravel plains to the north. Next, we set course over the majestic dune fields to the abandoned Charlottenfelder mining camps. We reach the Diamond Coast, fly past the Eduard Bohlen and Shawnee Shipwrecks, Sandwich Harbor with all its flamingos, the radiant salt pans south of Walvis Bay, past the harbor and back to Swakopmund.
SOSSUSVLEI SCENIC (2 hours 12 minutes)
We will fly south towards the scenic Kuiseb River flanked by the red dunes to the south and white gravel plains to the north. Next, we will pass Tsondabvlei and onwards to the centre of Sossusvlei, from here we will head towards the majestic dune fields onto the abandoned Charlottenfelder mining camps. We will reach the Diamond Coast, fly past the Eduard Bohlen and Shawnee Shipwrecks, flight will zig-zag along the coastline past the “Langewand” and Sandwich Harbor with all its flamingos, the radiant salt pans south of Walvis Bay, past the harbor and back to Swakopmund.
BRANDBERG AND CAPE CROSS SCENIC (2 hours 6 minutes)
After take-off we route east directly past the Rössing and Husab Mines; set course for the iconic Spitzkoppe granite inselberg. The flight route turns northwest past Brandberg (Namibia’s highest mountain range). Striking geological formations enroute between the Ugab river and the southern reaches of the Skeleton Coast. We turn south towards Cape Cross which is home to one of the largest Cape Fur Seal colonies in the world. Following the Skeleton Coast south, past the Zeila Shipwreck which got stranded on August 2008 south of Henties Bay. The salt pans just north of Swakopmund will be the final point of interest before returning to Swakopmund for landing.
