Düsternbrook is the first guest farm in Namibia, only 45 min from Windhoek (new highway A1 direction Etosha, exit D1499/Okapuka). Our guest farm is perfect for your first or last days in Namibia. On our traditional family owned safari and guest farm (since 1962) overnight and day visitors are welcomed alike. We are open all day and the whole year around.
The historical old guest farm in Namibia, was built in colonial style and out of natural stone, is nestled at the foot of the Khomas Highland Mountains and the surrounding African savannah.
On our guest farm we have an abundant diversity of more than 15 wildlife species, such as giraffe, mountain- and plain zebra, oryx, kudu, the rare sable antilope, cape eland, waterbuck, baboon, steenbok, cheetah, leopard and even Hippo.
For the individual traveller we offer, in carefully renovated buildings, separate and individually furnished guest rooms. All guest rooms have a comfortable double bed and ensuite bathroom with solar heated showers.
Our latest addition, Point of View, is a private lodge with 3 spacious luxury suites and a main building with a personal chef and amenities of the highest standards. Here you can enjoy stunning sunrises and sunsets in complete tranquility.
Enjoy our Classic Game Drive and experience the beauty of the African savanna on a 2 hour scenic game drive through open savanna and riverbeds with excellent wildlife viewing opportunities.
For every two nights, one Classic Game Drive per room is already included. Upgrades to horseriding or the Premium Game Drive are available.
Our Premium Game Drive is 3 hours through the Khomas Highlands culminating in sundowners on a hill with spectacular 360 degree views. One of the highlights is a visit to a dam where hippos are regularly seen – a unique experience not included in the classic game drive.
Furthermore you can enjoy light lunches, a game drive, a scenic mountain drive in the morning, horse riding with game viewing and also different well-signed hiking trails. Avid birdwatching enthusiasts can enjoy ample birdlife around the farm without leaving the comfort of their sunloungers.
