Kratzplatz is situated in the centre of town, close to all the wonders that Lüderitz has to offer. Many visitors describe it as a home away from home with individually styled rooms and creative bathroom designs, bearing testimony to the creative flair of its owners.


The guesthouse started in 1993 with only five rooms and is one of the oldest buildings in Lüderitz, built in 1900. In 1999 the owners bought an old church next to the premises and converted it into seven more rooms and a restaurant as well as a bar, known by the name of “Barrels”.


Now offering 12 En-suite rooms, each equipped with a Television, Refrigerator as well as Coffee / Tea-making facilities. Wi-Fi is available throughout the premises and secure parking is provided for guests’ peace of mind.


You won’t miss the distinctive red building on the corner of Nachtigal and Berg Street. It is an owner-run establishment offering comfort, personal service and a great breakfast! The on-site restaurant “Barrels” opens at 6pm serving the best Eisbein and Pizzas in the Bay accompanied by occasional jam sessions performed by local musicians.
