Khowarib Lodge is where the wild quietly works its magic. Tucked along the banks of the Hoanib River, deep within the dramatic Khowarib Gorge of north-west Namibia, the lodge feels like a well-kept secret whispered by the cliffs themselves. Fourteen tented chalets and self-catering units perch on stilts above the dry riverbed, spilling out over the edge to offer cool shade and uninterrupted views of the towering rock faces opposite: front-row seats to nature’s daily theatre.

The campsite has nine camping pitches benefitting from 220V mains electricity and access to a communal ablution block with hot water showers. Each camp has its light, tap and wash-up area, shade port, maintained braai  (BBQ) area, and a rubbish bin.

The campsites at Khowarib have their own restaurant, bar, swimming pool, and lawn area.

Set on the fringe of Kaokoland, Khowarib Lodge is the ideal launchpad for exploring Namibia’s remote north-west, whether you prefer charting your own course or joining one of the lodge’s expertly guided adventures. Damaraland unfolds right on your doorstep, rich with stories and encounters, from desert-adapted elephants to nearby Himba settlements… all close enough to reach, yet wild enough to feel wonderfully untamed.
