MADISA …

Madisa Camp is nestled in the heart of Namibia’s north-western region known as Damaraland, surrounded by ever-changing landscapes and desert adapted wildlife, making it the prefect escape for nature lovers. Dwarfed by massive rock formations and ancient Mopane Trees, this safari camp embraces its rugged environment perfectly. The majestic Desert Elephants that call the area home, regularly move through the camp to reach sources of water and food, truly making Madisa an oasis for all.

Located in the Sorris Sorris Conservancy, our aim at Madisa is to run an eco-friendly camp that will protect Damaraland’s sensitive fauna and flora. This makes it an ideal destination for the traveler who enjoys comfort without compromising on the experience of being immersed in this rugged and soulful place.

Madisa Camp is an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding areas, such as the Twyfelfontein World Heritage Site, Brandberg, Namibia’s highest mountain, Spitzkoppe, the Petrified Forest and the Ugab and Huab Rivers. What better way to end a day of exploring than with a swim in our refreshing rock pool or drinking an ice-cold Namibian beer while enjoying the vast array of colors reflected on the rock formations as the sun sets. It is also nice to meet fellow travelers, share newly made friendships and stories of adventure around the communal campfire, or “Bush TV” at night, while the sky puts on a breathtaking show of the stars.

We have 5 tandard Double Tents and 3 Family Safari Tents. Two of our Family Safari Tents comprise two tents directly next to each other and sleep four people in total. The third Family Safari Tent sleeps six people in total, three people per tent, and is perfect for larger families or groups. All linen is provided in these comfortable Safari Tents, allowing for a good night’s rest after falling asleep to the sounds of the oldest desert. Hot water is available at night, either by gas geyser or donkey system.

Madisa offers 9 Private Campsites, each with its ablution and braai facilities. These spacious campsites are situated on the dry Goantagab riverbed, and each site has a low stone wall around it and a bathroom built on stilts.
Madisa Private Campsites have a braai area that doubles up as a donkey geyser for hot water.

The 5 Overland Campsites are situated close to the bar and swimming pool. Each site has its own braai area and washbasin. There is a communal ablution block with showers, toilets, and basins.
